Employees were asked to create date labels for prepared chicken, meatballs and pizza sauce.
All tested subjects agreed that a screen with only the 3 items was better and faster than the current version.
Prep Yo Food App
Pre Yo Food was a phone app designed to assist restaurant employees by allowing them to quickly label food items thus saving hours per week.
Each food item has a corresponding expiration date based on its arrival or packed expiration date.
Problem Statement
Prep Yo Food is an excellent phone App. It does however have several problems. It does not permit the various users to customize their product labels lists.
Presumably an assistant to a VP at the franchise or restaurant chain will set up the complete product list. Because the lists are sorted alphabetically and not adjustable at the employee level, expediency is lost when hourly workers must scroll through items they will never date and print.
